Master Scheduler

Overview of the role

The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing the master production schedule to ensure the efficient and timely delivery of products and services.

Working cross-functionally with production, procurement, engineering, and logistics teams, the Master Scheduler will play a critical role in aligning supply and demand, mitigating risks, and driving continuous improvement across our planning processes.

 

Responsibilities

·         Develop and manage the Master Production Schedule (MPS) to align with customer demand, capacity constraints, and inventory targets.

·         Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Procurement, and Engineering to ensure schedule feasibility and efficiency.

·         Monitor material availability and capacity to proactively address potential bottlenecks or delays.

·         Analyse demand forecasts, order backlogs, and resource availability to maintain schedule accuracy.

·         Lead regular S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) meetings to review forecast, production output, and planning assumptions.

·         Provide visibility to key stakeholders on schedule status, risks, and required actions.

·         Identify opportunities for process improvements in planning, scheduling, and inventory control.

·         Maintain compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and quality standards.

·         Contribute to effective inventory control by ensuring accurate planning of material requirements, maintaining accurate stock levels, and minimising excess or obsolete inventory through proactive scheduling

·         Provide ongoing support, guidance, and coaching to planning team members to support development & alignment with organizational goals

 

Essential Qualifications, Skills and/or Experience

·         Experience in a similar role

·         Good understanding of all supply chain and S&OP processes

·         IT skills

·         HNC or similar

 

Desirable Qualifications, Skills and/or Experience

·         Business Central experience

·         Supply chain qualifications

 

This role will be worked over a 4.5 day week; Monday to Thursday 08:00 – 16:45 and Friday 08:00 – 12:30.
