Head of Student Support
(Permanent, Part-time)

Lead the Service That Help Every Student Succeed
Student success is about more than academic achievement. It is about ensuring every learner feels safe, supported, and able to overcome barriers to reaching their full potential. As Head of Student Support at Stanmore College, you will lead a wide range of services that play a vital role in the student experience, from safeguarding and wellbeing to enrichment, bursary support, attendance, and student advice.

We are looking for an experienced and compassionate leader who can inspire high-performing teams, develop effective support strategies, and work collaboratively across the College to create an inclusive environment where learners can flourish. Through your leadership, you will help ensure students receive the guidance, care, and opportunities they need to achieve both academically and personally.

Join Us at an Exciting Time
Stanmore College is entering a transformative period, supported by a £60 million redevelopment investment that will create a modern, sustainable campus for learners, staff, and the wider community.

Alongside significant investment in our facilities, we continue to strengthen the support services that enable learners to thrive. As Head of Student Support, you will play a key leadership role in shaping an outstanding student experience, ensuring every learner has access to the guidance, opportunities, and support they need to succeed.

The Role
You will provide strategic and operational leadership for the College's Student Support services, ensuring high-quality support is available to every learner throughout their time at Stanmore College.
You will:
•    Lead and develop the Student Support teams, including Safeguarding, Student Advice, Enrichment, Student Liaison, and Bursary services.
•    Oversee the delivery of safeguarding, wellbeing, attendance, and enrichment initiatives that promote student engagement and success.
•    Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, supporting the College's safeguarding responsibilities and managing a caseload of safeguarding concerns.
•    Develop and review systems, policies, and procedures that identify and remove barriers to learning through early intervention and effective support.
•    Ensure the effective administration of the Learner Support Fund and maintain robust compliance, reporting, and audit processes.
•    Work collaboratively with curriculum and professional service teams to enhance the overall student experience and improve outcomes for learners.

Why This Role Matters?
The support students receive outside the classroom is fundamental to their success within it. This role is central to ensuring learners feel safe, valued, and empowered to participate fully in College life, whatever their background or circumstances.

By leading high-quality student support services and fostering a culture of inclusion, wellbeing, and early intervention, you will help improve attendance, engagement, personal development, and progression, making a lasting difference to the lives of our learners.
