Description

Lead Compliance. Shape Enforcement. Influence What's Next.

At JOIC, we believe effective regulation isn't measured by the number of enforcement actions we take. It's measured by the confidence we build, the standards we uphold and the positive impact we have on the organisations and people we serve.

We're an independent regulator with a thoughtful, proportionate approach to data protection and privacy. We work closely with local organisations and the community to promote high standards of compliance, while taking decisive action where it's needed. We believe good regulation is built on expertise, sound judgement and constructive relationships.

We're now looking for an exceptional Compliance and Enforcement Director to join our Executive Team.

Based in Jersey, this is a rare opportunity to provide strategic leadership for one of the Island’s most important regulatory functions. You'll lead our Compliance and Enforcement team, providing expert leadership across complex and sensitive regulatory matters. You'll advise the Information Commissioner and the Jersey Data Protection Authority on significant cases, help shape Jersey's approach to compliance and enforcement, and build trusted relationships with key stakeholders. You'll also represent JOIC with authority, contributing to the development of data protection practice both on the Island and, where appropriate, with regulatory partners beyond further afield.

We're looking for an accomplished leader with deep expertise in data protection and privacy, excellent judgement and the ability to influence at the highest levels. Someone who combines technical credibility with strategic thinking, collaborative leadership and a genuine commitment to helping organisations use personal information responsibly.

If you're an experienced leader ready to make a lasting contribution to Jersey's data protection landscape, we'd be delighted to hear from you.

The successful candidate will be required to complete satisfactory pre-employment screening, including a criminal record (DBS) check and, where applicable, equivalent overseas checks.

JOIC offers a competitive benefits: - Pension Scheme, Employer Contribution 13.8% and Employee Contribution 6.77% - Private Medical Insurance - 28.5 days annual leave - Training and Development
