Develop Confidence, Ambition and Opportunity Through Sport

Sport develops more than physical performance—it builds confidence, resilience, leadership, and teamwork. As a Lecturer in Sports at Stanmore College, you will help learners harness these qualities while preparing for their next steps in education, employment, or training.

We are looking for someone who can use their passion for sport and industry experience to engage and motivate learners. Whether through practical activities, classroom teaching, coaching principles, or real-world examples, you will help students develop their understanding of sport while building confidence, resilience, teamwork, and ambition.

The Role:

You will join the Sports Department and contribute to the delivery and development of high-quality sports provision across Stanmore College.

 You will:

  • Teach across a range of Sports programmes and qualifications.
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that support learner achievement and progression.
  • Assess student work and provide constructive feedback to support development.
  • Act as a personal tutor, providing guidance, encouragement, and pastoral support.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement activities.
  • Support student recruitment, open events, and promotional activities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment.
  • Develop links with industry and external partners to enhance the learner experience.

Why This Role Matters

The sports sector continues to offer a wide range of progression opportunities, from higher education and apprenticeships to careers in coaching, fitness, leisure, and public services. This role is key to ensuring learners are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and experiences needed to make informed decisions about their future.

By delivering an engaging and relevant curriculum, you will help ensure that learners remain motivated, achieve their qualifications, and are well prepared for their next steps.

Salary: £27,980 – £44,835 per annum
