Head of Continuing Airworthiness
Location: Southampton
Reporting to: Accountable Manager AOC & CAMO
At Aurigny, safety, reliability and operational excellence are at the heart of everything we do. We are now seeking an experienced and commercially minded aviation professional to join our team as Head of Continuing Airworthiness — a pivotal leadership role responsible for the strategic and operational oversight of our Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO).
This is an outstanding opportunity for an accomplished CAMO professional to lead a highly regulated and safety-critical function within a respected airline environment. The successful candidate will act as Aurigny’s nominated Continuing Airworthiness Manager (CAM), ensuring our fleet remains fully airworthy, compliant, and operationally efficient at all times.
About the Role
As Head of Continuing Airworthiness, you will lead and manage all continuing airworthiness activities across the organisation, ensuring full compliance with Part CAMO, Part M, and all associated regulatory and company requirements. You will be accountable for maintaining the Continuing Airworthiness Management Exposition (CAME) and ensuring all aircraft operated by Aurigny continue to meet the highest standards of safety and regulatory compliance.
This role combines strategic leadership with strong technical oversight and operational delivery. You will work closely with internal departments, Part 145 maintenance organisations, regulatory authorities, and external service providers to ensure maintenance activities are planned, coordinated, and delivered effectively.
The position also plays a key role in balancing safety, operational performance, reliability, and cost efficiency, while supporting the continued development of Aurigny’s Safety Management System (SMS).
Key Responsibilities
As Head of Continuing Airworthiness, you will:
- Lead and manage Aurigny’s CAMO function, ensuring all continuing airworthiness activities are completed in accordance with regulatory requirements and company procedures.
- Act as the nominated post holder for Continuing Airworthiness and serve as the primary subject matter expert for CAMO-related matters.
- Maintain and develop the Continuing Airworthiness Management Exposition (CAME), associated procedures, manuals, and policies.
- Ensure the continued validity of Certificates of Airworthiness and manage the issue, extension, and renewal of Airworthiness Review Certificates (ARCs).
- Oversee aircraft maintenance programmes, including indirect approval activities and ongoing programme optimisation.
- Manage and monitor technical data required to maintain airworthiness, including Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Service Bulletins (SBs), modifications, and repairs in accordance with Part-21 requirements.
- Evaluate non-mandatory modifications using operational and cost-benefit analysis to support informed decision-making.
- Coordinate maintenance planning activities with operational teams and approved Part 145 maintenance organisations.
- Monitor reliability programme performance and lead reliability review meetings to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure all maintenance activities, including defect rectification, are completed to approved standards and within regulatory requirements.
- Maintain oversight of aircraft technical records and airworthiness data management systems.
- Manage subcontracted continuing airworthiness activities and third-party maintenance providers to ensure service delivery standards are achieved.
- Contribute actively to Aurigny’s Safety Management System (SMS) and support safety promotion initiatives across the organisation.
About You
We are looking for a confident and collaborative leader with extensive CAMO and continuing airworthiness experience within a commercial aviation environment. You will possess strong technical knowledge, excellent regulatory understanding, and the ability to lead teams and stakeholders effectively within a fast-paced operational setting.
You will be highly organised, analytical, and commercially aware, with the ability to balance operational priorities while maintaining an uncompromising focus on safety and compliance.
Essential Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- The ability to meet CAA requirements to become the nominated post holder (NP) for the CAMO function.
- An engineering degree (preferred) or EASA B1/B2 Licence.
- A minimum of five years’ experience in a similar or relevant continuing airworthiness role.
- Strong knowledge of aircraft maintenance programmes, reliability systems, and MSG-3 principles.
- Experience with maintenance planning methodologies and systems.
- Strong understanding of airworthiness and maintenance data management systems.
- Experience managing aircraft technical records.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management capability.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- A strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and the ability to interpret and apply complex aviation requirements.
Desirable Experience
The following experience would be advantageous:
- Previous airline CAMO experience.
- Experience working in a senior CAMO leadership role.
- Previous people management experience.
- Experience using the OASES system.
Training & Regulatory Requirements
The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate current knowledge and competence in relevant regulatory and safety requirements, including:
- Part M

- Part 145
- Safety Management Systems (SMS)
You should also hold, or be willing to maintain, mandatory regulatory training in:
